An American actress best known for her role as Batgirl from the 1960s TV series, Batman.  Yvonne Craig played Commissioner Gordon's daughter, the lovable librarian, Barbara. She secretly moonlighted as the female crime fighter Batgirl, and as the Commissioner's daughter, she had access to all the calls of trouble that was taking place in Gotham.  Born in Taylorville, Illinois, Yvonne originally trained to be a ballet dancer and as a young teenager was accepted to the prestigious Denham's Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. Gradually, she moved into acting, appearing in films with such stars as Bing Crosby, Cesar Romero, Elvis Presley and even romanced Captian Kirk as Marta, a green-skinned Orion in Star Trek.  Yvonne has written an autobiography, From Ballet to the Batcave and Beyond, about these years.
