Taylor Kitsch

A Canadian actor and model best known for his portrayal of high school football star Tim Riggins on the television series "Friday Night Lights". Born in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada and grew up in Vancouver where he still lives when he's not shooting. Taylor was headed toward becoming a professional hockey player, playing in the Canadian BCHL for the Langley Hornets, when he received a career ending knee injury.  He moved to New York City to pursue modeling, studied acting and became a certified nutritionist and personal trainer. He returned to Vancouver and landed his first major role alongside Samuel L. Jackson in Snakes on a Plane. Mr. Kitsch shot to bigger fame with his role in The Covenant which lead to being cast in the lead role in Friday Night Lights. In February 2008, he signed on to play Gambit in the X-Men franchise spin-off X-Men Origins: Wolverine released May 2009, and is to play the title role in John Carter of Mars, alongside co-star Lynn Collins and Willem Dafoe set for a 2012 release.
