Mickey Rourke
An American actor and screenwriter. Mickey Rourke was born Phillip Andre Rourke, Jr. in Schenectady, NY to Irish and French parents. He grew up in Miami, FL and as a young man was more interested in athletics than acting. He took up self-defense and trained as a boxer, competing in early matches as Andre Rourke. Boxing from 1964 to 1972, Rourke temporarily retired on doctors orders, after suffering another concussion with an amateur boxing record of 20 wins, 17 by knockout and 6 defeats. Rourke moved to New York City, began acting lessons and made his film debut in a small role in Steven Spielberg's film '1941', followed by other roles in such films as 'Angel Heart', 'The Pope of Greenwich Village' and his portrayal of an arsonist in 'Body Heat'. After a battle with life's demons, Rourke returned from a hiatus in filming to miraculously rise to the top of the A list with a Golden Globe award winning performance in The Wrestler and other solid performances in such films as 'Domino', 'Killshot', and 'Iron Man 2'. Celebrity Authentics is pleased to be your only source for genuine autographed memorabilia from one of film's most storied leading men, Mickey Rourke.
