Leonard Nimoy

An American actor, film director, poet, musician and photographer. He is best known for playing the character of Spock on Star Trek, a series that ran for three seasons from 1966 to 1969, in addition to several movie sequels. Nimoy's most famous role is the half-Vulcan, half-human Spock, earned three Emmy nominations and launched his career as a writer and director, notably of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. Nimoy is the only actor to appear in every episode of the original "Star Trek" series. Born in Boston, Massachusetts to Yiddish-speaking Jewish immigrants from Russia, he has been acting in since age eight. Nimoy is an accomplished photographer (specializing in black and white images), avid writer of poetry and has written many books. Coming out of retirement, Nimoy will return to reprise his famous role as Spock one more time in the upcoming movie Star Trek.
