Katee Sackhoff
An American actress best known for her role as Captain Kara "Starbuck" Thrace; a hot-shot fighter pilot from the television series, Battlestar Galactica. In 2006, she won the Saturn Award for "Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series" category for her work in the miniseries. Born in Portland, OR, she grew up in St. Helens, OR and graduated from Sunset Hight School. Katee's athleticism, swimming in particular, played a large part in her life at an early age and by high school her long-term goal was of going pro. Her dream of a swimming career was cut short after an accident that injured her right knee. This led her to begin practicing yoga, which she continues today, and to pursue an interest in acting in High School productions and eventually in the Lifetime original movie Fifteen and Pregnant with Kirsten Dunst. After graduating, Sackhoff moved to Hollywood where she landed various jobs including roles in The Education of Max Bickford, Halloween: Resurrection and eventually Battlestar Galactica. Katee also appeared in Bionic Woman, Law and Order, Nip/Tuck, The Big Bang Theory and 24 as Dana Walsh.
