John Travolta

Is an American actor, dancer and singer best known for his roll in the television series Welcom Back Kotter and big-screen blockbusters Saturday Night Fever (which launched the disco phenomenon) and Grease that catapulted him to international stardom. Born John Joseph Travolta in Englewood, New Jersey, he is the youngest of six children. After high school Mr. Travolta moved to New York City and landed a role in the touring company of the musical Grease and on Broadway in Over Here!  Moving to Los Angeles to further his career he landed his first significant role in the horror film Carrie, but his star-making role came as Vinnie Barbarino in the TV sitcom Welcome Back Kotter along with a hit single 'Let Her In'  at #10 on the Billboard chart. In the next few years, he appeared in some of his most memorable screen roles with Saturday Night Fever earning him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor (one of the youngest performers ever nominated) and his memorable role as Danny Zuko in Grease.  With many roles in between, Urban Cowboy, Look Who's Talking, Michael, Broken Arrow and Face/Off to name a few,  it was his portrayal of Vincent Vega in the hit Pulp Fiction that  resulted in an Academy Award nomination and reaffirmed his A-list stature, followed by a Golden Globe for Get Shorty.  His latest credits include Wild Hogs, Ladder 49, The Punisher, Hairspray, Pelham 1 2 3, the animated hit Bolt, Old Dogs, From Paris with Love and the biopic, Gotti, based upon the life of mobster John Gotti.  Mr. Travolta is a certified private pilot and currently holds 10 jet licenses, using them for such worthy causes as disaster relief runs to New Orleans after the 2005 hurricane, bringing much needed food and medical supplies, and again in 2010, this time to Haiti after the earthquake, caring supplies, doctors and volunteers into the disaster area.
